Catching Up

Catching Up

It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life.

We are officially empty-nesters! My mama heart says this with such mixed emotions, but our children are well equipped to fly and our RV-dreams are in full motion. After a summer of fun focused on maximizing time with our family, particularly the one who graduated high school a few short months ago and is now officially a college freshman, Kevin and I are ready to settle into our new normal, which I suspect will be anything but normal!

One thing that means is our goal of documenting our journeys on this blog is about to kick into high gear. There is so much to share about the transition to this lifestyle, the good (and sometimes bad) of the experience, lessons learned, how we make it work, and all the amazing things we get to see and do. I’ve written a million blog posts on these topics in my mind this summer, but the focus was elsewhere and time was short. Now that the time is available, I’m super excited to share with you!

This week I plan to publish a post each day to catch you up on the places we’ve visited and things we’ve done this summer. Get ready!! So far we’ve …

  • worshipped in 13 different places
  • camped in 12 campgrounds
  • escaped from a locked room
  • seen a fire-breathing dragon
  • eaten pasties
  • met our super amazingly brilliant and adorable twin one-year-old nephews
  • cheered a chirizo to victory
  • held a bunny rabbit
  • eradicated more illnesses than I can count
  • and so much more!

Tune in this week for all the details!
