Full hookups

Full hookups

Mary D is at it again … her second camping trip, that is! And this time we went all out and got full hookups. Since our last trip, Kevin fixed the small water leak. It turns out it was just a connection where the water comes in for the toilet. Kevin had disconnected it to do the tile work, and it wasn’t as secure as it needed to be. All’s good now, so that means trip two includes hot water and a shower for both of us! But I’m getting ahead of myself. 🙂

First there was the drive to the KOA in Jackson, MN. This was the first time I’ve ridden in Mary D further than around the block. And this was my view! As sweet as this view is, surrounded by miles of windows, Kevin had the most unique view on the back camera screen.

So that’s not the greatest photo, but I think you can tell that we had a hitchhiker. A large bug was hanging on to our back camera. Crazy! Unfortunately for him, he didn’t hang on for very long.

We took some back roads (translate = bumpy) down to the interstate, and, with a little help from Google, I managed to navigate us to not one, but two, wrong turns as well as about 10 miles of road construction signs. We were happy to get to the interstate for smooth and predictable driving.

It was a special “appreciation” weekend at KOA, and, since I bought a membership, we only had to pay for one night! We figure that even with the cost of membership, we saved $25 on our two night stay. And we can continue to save 10% on all KOA stays for the next year.

Set up was quick, and the “city water” coming in works great! We are having fun fixing our food in the camper. And we are doing some serious R&Ring this time. After our busy summer and so much work on Mary D, we are happy to have some down time!

The  park we are in is clean and quite this weekend. We walked a bit around the loop, and even played a round of putt putt golf! Despite the wrong turns, this trip was a success!!
